Our Character Determines Our DESTINY

Commence with Gratitude to The Ultimate Knower, The Most Benevolent;

When someone asks me for a quick advice, I offer him or her, the following, “Our Character Creates and Determines Our Destiny”.

When asked for the amplification on my statement, I borrow a complimentary quote from Theodore Roosevelt, (he is one of the people, whom I admire… The People who determined to excel and strived for the best, even in the face of adversity)

“Character, in the long run, is the decisive factor in the life of an individual and of nations alike.”

Then I attempt to expand by explaining what Character is. Again, I borrow the wisdom from many, and continue that it is derived from a Greek words, charaktēr, from charassein to scratch, engrave

One dictionary defined it as, "the attributes or features that make up and distinguish an individual, the one I like the most", “the aggregate of qualities distinctive to an individual”.

I like to listen and read Mr. Michael Josephson, sometimes. He explains it further, that there are Six Pillars of the Character.

Respect

Treat others with respect; follow the Golden Rule • Be tolerant of differences • Use good manners, not bad language • Be considerate of the feelings of others • Don’t threaten, hit or hurt anyone • Deal peacefully with anger, insults and disagreements

Trustworthiness

Be honest • Do not deceive, cheat, or steal • Be reliable — do what you say you will do • Have the courage to do the right thing • Build a good reputation • Be loyal — stand by your family, friends, and country

Responsibility

Do what you are supposed to do • Persevere: keep on trying! • Always do your best • Use self-control • Be self-disciplined • Think before you act — consider the consequences • Be accountable for your choices

Fairness

Play by the rules • Take turns and share • Be open-minded; listen to others • Don’t take advantage of others • Don’t blame others carelessly

Caring

Be kind • Be compassionate and show you care • Express gratitude • Forgive others • Help people in need

Citizenship

Do your share to make your community better • Cooperate • Get involved in community affairs • Stay informed; vote • Be a good neighbor • Obey laws and rules • Respect authority • Protect the environment

Going back to the Greek origin of the word, I love how Mr. Jim Rohn explains it. He says, that Character from word Charassein, is what describe the process of the building a Character.

Have you ever seen person who is engraving? He or She is chiseling away, one stroke at a time, until the final masterpiece is created. That is how, our Character is developed one thought, one word at a time.

We are the Creator of Our Character, Chiseling Away, and One Stroke at A Time.

In conclusion, Our Character Determines (the Quality of) Our Destiny;

Our Qualities, distinctive (to us), make up of Our Character;

What is “qualities distinctive to an individual” means? That is our “Habits”;

Therefore, Our Habits Make Our Character;

Our Actions (and lack of the Actions) make our Habits;

And Our Words Create Action,

And Our Thoughts are reason and cause of Our Action.

That is why the old saying, “Think Before Your Speak”. We manifest our thoughts by speaking of them, then the Universe, takes the baton from us, starts working on the full expression of our spoken word, delivering us to our Destiny,…………… then we wonder…………… at our circumstances. And, We ask the question, why all this has occurred to us!

Below is the glimpse from one of the lessons taught at my Mentorship Sessions. Purpose is to bring us back to the alignment with the Universe.

Second Lesson:

Today lesson is adopted (and modified) from a book called “Your Forces and How to Use Them”, by Christian D Larson, first published in 1912.

Just recently, I received an email, which rocked the peace of my mind. This email was from someone, whom, I really and dearly cared about. This person and I developed a connection at a spiritual level, which seemed like, as if we have known each other for long time. Although, he was introduced to me, through my forecasts and trading posts at different public forums. We had become friends and exchanged our children’s pictures.

And then, I received his devastating email, and below his name, was his telephone number, giving me a signal that I ought to contact him. This friend of mine had lost over quarter of a million dollars in trading within last 9 months. I had spoken to him in details, back in January of 2010! Had he listened to me at that time, it would have saved him at least $50,000 dollars. This is was his life savings and future for his wife, his 2 years old daughter. However, he let $50,000 evaporate right in front of his eyes. Yes! He did not listen to me. He did not pull the trigger; he did not want to take my word. He wanted to ponder and wonder a little more, while his family savings were on fire.

However, after receiving his desperate email, all I could do was to save him from burning his money even more, I had him pull the trigger and close the loosing trades at once. Like, most unsuccessful traders, he has been in “the moment of brain-freeze”. Where he could not decide for him. These trades not only caused him loose his family’s life savings and their financially bright future, but also his self-confidence was destroyed with it, too. Just look at his email breaking the bad news (above) to me and below the thank you note.
